Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has stated that it is not the time for former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to become president.
He made the declaration on Thursday during an interview on Channels Television.
Melaye described Obi as a fantastic man, but said that he does not have what it takes to unify Nigeria.
“But let me even tell you, Peter Obi is a fantastic Nigerian. I have tremendous respect for him, and I’ve said it before, he is a fantastic person, but this is not his time to be President,” Melaye said.
Recall that Dino Melaye, after leaving the National Assembly, contested the Kogi State gubernatorial election under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, but lost to the incumbent governor, Ahmed Ododo.
