JAMB Warns Candidates Against Admission From Popular University.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has said it does not recognise recent admissions into the Law Faculty of Lead City University.

The Board clarified that the admissions were not processed through its official platform, the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), which is the only valid method for handling university admissions in Nigeria.

JAMB explained that any admission not conducted through CAPS cannot be accepted within the official system.

The Board also noted that Lead City University’s Law programme is currently suspended for five years, and institutions must follow proper admission rules during such suspensions.

Candidates are urged to make sure their admissions are processed through CAPS to avoid problems with documentation or recognition.

The Board warned that students accepting admissions outside the approved system could face difficulties with their academic status.

Attempts by some universities to regularise irregular admissions through inter-university transfers were also addressed. JAMB clarified that transfers are only valid if the student was first admitted through CAPS.

The Board reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and integrity in Nigeria’s higher education admissions. It advised affected candidates to seek admission through approved channels and to participate in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination where necessary.
