Nigerian singer Mr Real has expressed fear over releasing music amid the turmoil in Nigeria, highlighting the chaos and insecurity affecting the country.
He said, “What the hell is going on? What is happening? what’s the reason for all of this. Every time I wake up, the kind of news I hear, it frightens me. I cannot stay silent.”
It’s not like I don’t have songs to drop but I’m afraid cos of what’s going on in the country.“
Addressing societal indifference, he added, “celebrities dropping songs are trying Almost every time people release songs, it is as if they ignore reality. I do not know what kind of mindset that is. The country has been b+rning. People are unwilling to speak about it. What has happened? People are d+ing. Some people are quiet. Kidn+pping has become a business.”
Mr Real also criticized those who act as if life continues despite the crisis: “When I tell you that some parties are still happening, some people even come and say, ‘Life goes on.’ That is the problem. Because of that mindset, people just continue living their lives, ignoring the chaos.”
Reflecting on governance and leadership, he stated, “Now, I must say, I am not living my life freely either. I do go to clubs; I do enjoy myself. But can you see that it is not normal? This country has been ruined. It is not good for us in other countries things like these don’t happen.
He concluded with concern and determination, saying, “I will speak out until it is finished. Tomorrow, I might still go to the club, but is this normal?
