A serving member of the Nigerian Army, Chukwuebuka Peter, has been arrested in Abia State over his alleged role in a robbery operation in which a victim was dispossessed of N5 million.
The suspect, a lance corporal reportedly attached to the 14 Brigade in
Ohafia, Abia State was apprehended shortly after the incident.
He was said to have been found with two axes and a pair of handcuffs
allegedly used during the operation.
In a video that has since surfaced online, the soldier appeared visibly
distressed while being interrogated by a superior officer, repeatedly admitting
guilt and pleading for leniency.
"My action was wrong... it was not right," he said, as he
acknowledged participating in the crime.
According to him, he is from Ehime-Mbano LGA of Imo State.
