We Are Still Ashamed – Sanwo-Olu Speaks On Tinubu’s 2023 Presidential Election Defeat In Lagos.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state are still unsettled over the outcome of the 2023 presidential election in Lagos, describing it as a painful experience for the party.

The governor made this known on Tuesday through his Chief of Staff, Tayo Ayinde, during a Ramadan lecture organised by the party in Lagos.

The gathering brought together members for prayers and discussions as they began to look ahead to the 2027 elections.

Speaking to party supporters, Ayinde urged them to take early steps toward the next election cycle.

He called on members to ensure they register and collect their Permanent Voter Cards, stressing that active participation would be key to the party’s success in future elections.

He noted that the events of the 2023 election in Lagos were disappointing to the party and should not be repeated.

He encouraged members to prepare properly so that the party can achieve better results in the next general election.

Sanwo-Olu also linked the future of the current federal administration to the chances of President Bola Tinubu returning for a second term.

He said continued progress at the national level would depend on the party securing another mandate for the president.

He said, “Don’t let things be like the last time, we all must get our PVCs, because what happened the last time (2023 election) was not good enough, and we are still ashamed of it.

“We are honestly still ashamed of it. For things not to go that route, we all must equip ourselves with our PVCs ahead of the elections next year.”
