Businessman Killed In Edo Hours Before Child Dedication.

A businessman in Ekpoma, Edo State, has lost his life after he was attacked by armed men just hours before a planned child dedication ceremony for his newborn. The incident has left residents and family members in deep shock.

The victim, Justice Oshioke, who owned a fast-food business known as Principle Takeout, was attacked on Saturday night around the Idumebo area of Ekpoma. He was on his way home when the attack happened.

Reports say the attackers were suspected kidnappers who tried to forcefully take him away. However, he struggled with them and refused to go with them. During the struggle, he was shot by the attackers.

He was quickly taken to a nearby hospital, but medical workers confirmed that he did not survive the injuries.

The attack took place just a day before his child’s dedication ceremony, which had already been planned by the family. The sudden loss has brought sadness to relatives, friends, and members of the community who knew him as a well-known businessman in the area.

The Edo State Police Command confirmed the incident. A police spokesperson said the man was attacked by unknown armed persons at about 9:55 p.m. in Idumebo, Ekpoma, and later confirmed dead at the hospital after being rushed there for treatment.

Security agencies have started looking into the case as efforts continue to identify those responsible for the attack.
