Armed attackers stormed a night prayer gathering at Ori-Oke Ajaiye in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, killing three worshippers and taking 15 others away.
The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. while people were holding vigil prayers at the site. The attackers were said to have entered the prayer ground suddenly, opened fire, and caused panic before abducting several worshippers to an unknown location. The report was made by Pastor Adebayo Abiodun of Ijo Ajaiye Ati Igbala in Ekerin Village.
The Kwara State Police Command confirmed the attack through its spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi. Security teams have been sent to the area, and the Commissioner of Police, CP Ojo Adekimi, has ordered a tactical operation involving police units and a drone team to track the attackers and rescue the kidnapped victims.
