My Service Is Needed Beyond Bauchi — Ali Pate Rejects Governorship Calls.

The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Ali Pate, has said he will not take part in the 2027 governorship election in Bauchi State, explaining that he prefers to continue serving the country at a wider level.

He made this known in a video shared online on Sunday, where he reacted to calls from many residents of the state who had been urging him to run for governor.

Pate said he is aware that people across Bauchi have been asking him to join the race, but he believes his role at this time goes beyond the state. He added that the support he has received shows the trust people have in his leadership and the belief that he can deliver.

According to him, after speaking with different groups including elders, youths, and other stakeholders, he decided to focus on national service instead of contesting for the governorship seat. He explained that such decisions require careful thought and guidance, especially when choosing where one’s service is most needed.

He also said Nigeria needs the effort of its citizens in different areas, noting that contributing to national growth is not limited to holding positions at the state level.

Despite stepping away from the race, Pate assured the people of Bauchi that he remains committed to their well-being. He said their trust would not be taken for granted and promised to continue working towards improving lives.

He added that his focus would include better healthcare delivery, creating opportunities for young people, and supporting women and children who need assistance.

The minister also said he would remain active in politics by backing candidates who have good character and are ready to serve the people sincerely, rather than those who only appear during election periods.

He called on residents to support the administration of Bola Tinubu and candidates of the All Progressives Congress, stating that cooperation between federal and state governments can help bring development.

Pate also advised young people to stay away from actions that could harm them or the society, warning against drug abuse, violence, and being used for political purposes. He encouraged them to remain united and act responsibly.

He ended by thanking his supporters and restating his commitment to public service, saying he will continue to contribute whenever the opportunity arises.
