Ondo Amotekun Arrests 98 Suspects Over Crimes.

The Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun Corps, has arrested 98 people suspected of different crimes across the state. Among them were individuals posing as mentally unstable persons who were said to be working with kidnapping and robbery groups.

The Commander of the Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, made this known while presenting the suspects at the agency’s headquarters. He said the arrests followed several operations carried out against kidnapping, robbery, drug dealing, and other activities affecting safety in different parts of Ondo State.

He added that 60 of the suspects are already in court facing trial. Another 38 cases were handled through an alternative dispute resolution process. He also said 13 suspects are still under investigation and may still be charged after the process is completed.

Adeleye explained that some of the suspects were caught during attempts to carry out kidnappings. He also said security operatives discovered that some criminals disguise themselves as mad people to avoid attention while supporting criminal gangs.

According to him, these individuals were involved in gathering information for kidnappers, selling drugs, and assisting in robberies. He said they were tracked after operatives noticed their movements, including where they secretly meet, change clothes, and charge phones before carrying out attacks.
