The Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, Ignatius Ayau Kaigama, on Wednesday visited the residence of former Governor of Plateau State and Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District, Simon Bako Lalong, to offer prayers as he marks his 63rd birthday.
Archbishop Kaigama prayed for God’s continued
blessings upon Senator Lalong and his family, urging him to remain steadfast in
service with the fear of God and commitment to the common good.
Earlier at plenary, the President of the Senate,
Godswill Akpabio, felicitated Senator Lalong on his birthday, describing him as
a politician distinguished by humility, loyalty, and compassion for the people.
He commended the Senator’s contributions to legislative work and national
development.
Senator Lalong also received colleagues and associates
at his office, where they joined in celebrating the occasion and highlighted
his enduring qualities of dignity, honour, and integrity in public service.
The birthday celebration provided an opportunity for
reflection on Senator Lalong’s impactful career and continued dedication to the
service of his constituents and the nation at large.
In his response Senator Lalong expressed appreciation
to God for grace, good health, family and success in life, describing the day
as humbling and a period for reflection.
He thanked all those who prayed for him and sent good
wishes especially President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President, Governors,
colleagues and many friends, supporters and well wishers too numerous to
mention.
