Students Abducted In Nasarawa University Area.

Panic spread across the community around Nasarawa State University after suspected armed men reportedly abducted eight students during a midnight attack near the institution’s Engineering Campus in Gudi.

The incident reportedly happened around 1 a.m. on Thursday when the attackers invaded off-campus student hostels close to the school environment. Witnesses said the armed men moved through several lodges in the area and forcefully took the students away to an unknown destination.

Residents said the operation lasted for some time as sounds of gunfire and cries for help created fear across the community. Many students reportedly hid inside their rooms while others struggled to find safe places during the attack.

Sources within the area said there was no immediate security response while the incident was ongoing, leaving students frightened throughout the operation. The development has also raised fresh concerns over the safety of students living outside the campus.

The attack has created tension within the university community, especially as students are currently sitting for examinations. Some residents and students complained about the level of security around the institution and nearby communities.

Following the incident, students and residents called on security agencies and the Nasarawa State government to quickly rescue the abducted students and strengthen security around the university environment to prevent further attacks.
