President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the successful elimination of a top Islamic State (IS) commander in a joint operation by Nigerian and United States forces.
In a statement, Tinubu revealed that Abu-Bilal Al-Manuki, also known as Abu-Mainok, a senior IS leader, along with several of his lieutenants, was killed in a strike on his compound in the Lake Chad Basin.
The President commended the Nigerian Armed Forces and their US counterparts for the operation and expressed appreciation to President Donald Trump for the strong partnership in the fight against terrorism.
He described the operation as a significant example of effective collaboration and pledged more decisive actions against terrorist groups across the country.
