Primate Elijah Ayodele has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration over the rising insecurity in Nigeria, accusing the government of not doing enough to tackle the crisis.
In a statement released through his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the cleric alleged that the government and security agencies already know those responsible for insecurity across the country but are afraid to take decisive action against them.
“The Nigerian government isn’t taking the issue of security seriously because it’s looking like a curse to the Nigerian government,” he said.
Ayodele also stated that “the secret of insecurity is known to the government and all service chiefs but they are scared.”
The cleric further claimed that many of the insecurity problems facing Nigeria today began when some politicians allegedly empowered armed groups for political reasons and later lost control of them.
He also alleged that certain traditional rulers may have links to insecurity and questioned why authorities have failed to act against those allegedly involved.
According to him, insecurity has now turned into a “business” in Nigeria, warning that the situation may continue unless the government is ready to take stronger actions.
