White House Locked Down After Shooting Near Trump's Event Location.

The White House was briefly placed on lockdown Monday after a law enforcement officer shot an individual near the Washington Monument, authorities confirmed.

According to the United States Secret Service, the incident occurred around 15th Street and Independence Avenue, a short distance from where former President Donald Trump was hosting a small business event.

“One individual was sh+t by law enforcement; their condition is currently unknown,” the agency said in a statement shared on X, adding that personnel were on the scene responding to what it described as an “officer-involved sh+oing.”

The circumstances leading to the sh+oting remain unclear, and authorities have yet to release details about the individual involved.

As emergency responders moved in, the Secret Service urged the public to steer clear of the area, warning that roads would remain closed for several hours. The Metropolitan Police Department also confirmed that officers were at the scene and that “the scene is secure.”

Despite the disruption, Trump’s event continued without interruption.

The incident comes amid heightened security concerns in Washington, following a recent sh+oting linked to the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner late last month, for which a suspect has since been arrested.
