There was unrest in Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano State after some residents reportedly burned campaign posters of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
According to a video seen by DAILY POST, the NDC chairman in the local government area, Bilyaminu Bachirawa, was pulled from a moving motorcycle amid the chaos. Reports indicate that he narrowly escaped being lynched as angry youths chased the motorcycle while shouting.
The incident occurred shortly after the NDC announced Obi as its presidential candidate for the 2027 general election on Saturday evening. Moments after securing the ticket, Obi officially presented Kwankwaso as his running mate.
Obi and Kwankwaso recently left the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the NDC, citing internal disagreements and ongoing court cases within the party.
