Aisha Yesufu Urges Nigerians To Take Active Part In Politics.

Activist Aisha Yesufu has called on Nigerians to become more involved in politics, saying that political decisions already have a direct impact on the lives of citizens and that remaining neutral is no longer an option.

Speaking during an interview, the member of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) said the growing attention surrounding the party and its candidate indicates increasing public interest.

She, however, maintained that the issue facing the country goes beyond support for any political party.

According to Yesufu, Nigerians must come together to ensure that governments and political parties remain accountable to the people.

She argued that citizens cannot afford to stay away from political participation because policies and leadership decisions affect their daily lives.

The activist said voters should see themselves as the real opposition and take responsibility for defending the democratic process.

She urged citizens to safeguard the integrity of their votes and ensure that the candidates chosen by the electorate are the ones eventually declared winners.

Yesufu also repeated her position that the 2027 general election will be a crucial moment in Nigeria’s history.

She described the coming election as a major test that could shape the future direction of the country.

She advised voters not to leave polling units immediately after casting their ballots.

Instead, she encouraged them to closely monitor the movement and collation of results from polling units through ward, local government and state levels.

The activist further stated that Nigerians should be ready to organise and participate in lawful and peaceful democratic actions, including protests, if they believe the electoral process has been compromised.

She stressed the need for citizens to remain alert throughout the election process and ensure that the votes cast are accurately reflected in the final results announced by electoral authorities.
