Comoros Women Beat Sudan 30–0.

Comoros have booked a second-round showdown with Nigeria's Super Falcons after recording a staggering 30-0 aggregate victory over Sudan in the first round of qualifiers for the 2028 Olympic Games women's football tournament.

The Coelacanths delivered one of the most dominant performances in recent qualification history, thrashing Sudan 17-0 in the first leg on June 3 before sealing a 13-0 victory in the return leg five days later.

In the opening encounter, Comoros took the lead after just eight minutes and never looked back, producing a relentless attacking display that saw nine different players get on the scoresheet. Their dominance continued in the second leg on June 8, with three first-half goals followed by ten more after the break to complete a remarkable aggregate triumph.

The emphatic victory sets up a daunting second-round tie against Nigeria's Super Falcons, the most successful women's national team in Africa. The nine-time African champions are widely expected to enter the contest as overwhelming favourites.

Nigeria head into the qualifiers in impressive form after defeating Senegal 3-0 in an international friendly at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on Monday night. The victory followed a 2-1 win over the same opponents in an earlier friendly match last week.

Under the guidance of head coach Justine Madugu, the Super Falcons will be aiming to continue their strong run of form as they pursue qualification for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, United States.

The second-round qualifying matches are scheduled to be played between October 5 and October 13, 2026.

Only two African nations will secure qualification for the women's football tournament at the 2028 Olympic Games, making the road to Los Angeles highly competitive.
