Popular social media influencer and self-styled relationship therapist Blessing Nkiruka Okoro, also known as Blessing CEO, was arraigned on Tuesday by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations of fraud and theft.
The mother of two appeared before Justice R.A. Oshodi of the Special Offences Court in Ikeja, facing a two-count charge of obtaining money by false pretence and stealing, allegedly involving N69,150,000 (sixty-nine million, one hundred and fifty thousand naira).
At the start of proceedings, the prosecution, led by C.C. Okezie, urged the court to proceed, noting that the defendant had been properly served with the charge. The defence, represented by Nkama Nneka, argued that service of the charge had only recently been effected.
Justice Oshodi ruled that the arraignment should continue in accordance with the law, and the charges were formally read to the defendant in court.
Separately, Blessing CEO was granted N10 million bail in a related EFCC case, in which she faces a two-count charge of obtaining money by false pretence and stealing N36 million. This case concerns allegations that she received funds under the pretense of leasing a property in Lekki, Lagos.
She was initially arraigned in this matter on May 15, 2026, and a bail hearing was scheduled for June 5. Following arguments from both the prosecution and defence, Justice Dipeolu reserved ruling, which was delivered today granting her bail.
