In a post shared on his Instagram page on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, Emenike criticized the growing tendency of some individuals to defend those responsible for violence and the loss of innocent lives across the country.
“Nigeria is going through difficult times, and it's troubling to see some people defending those responsible for violence and loss of innocent lives,” he wrote.
The former international called on Nigerians to allow their conscience to guide their actions, stressing the need to prioritize humanity above personal or group interests.
“We must rise above ethnic, political, religious sentiments and allow our conscience to guide us in standing for justice, peace and the sanctity of human life,” Emenike added.
He also warned against complacency, noting that insecurity can affect anyone regardless of their location or circumstances.
“What seems distant today may be at your doorstep tomorrow,” he cautioned.
Emenike’s comment come amid growing concerns over security challenges in various parts of the country, with many Nigerians continuing to call for stronger measures to protect lives and property.
