NCAA Suspends Operator As Aircraft Lands On Road In Delta.

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has suspended the permit of a private aircraft operator after one of its planes reportedly landed on a road near Asaba in Delta State without approval.

The aviation regulator said the incident happened after the aircraft experienced difficulty while trying to land at Asaba Airport.

It was later forced to make contact on a road in the Ogwashi-Uku area near Asaba, where all four crew members on board safely exited the aircraft. No injuries were recorded.

After the unexpected landing, the aircraft later took off again from the location and returned to Lagos without clearance from aviation authorities. The authority also said air traffic control was only informed after the aircraft had already left the ground.

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority described the actions as a breach of aviation rules and confirmed that the operator’s permit for non-commercial flight has been suspended pending investigation.

The aircraft was grounded on arrival in Lagos while regulators began a full review of the incident. The flight crew has also been placed under regulatory scrutiny as investigations continue.

The authority has informed the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau and is working with the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency and other stakeholders to determine what led to the incident and the decisions taken afterward.

Officials said all operational records connected to the aircraft will be examined, including maintenance, airworthiness, and flight logs, as part of the ongoing investigation.
