There was sadness in Uga community in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State as family, friends and relatives gathered to bury a man identified as Chibuzor Nzediegwu, who reportedly died while watching a football match.
Reports say Nzediegwu, a strong supporter of Arsenal Football Club, collapsed during the second half of the UEFA Champions League final between Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain. It was gathered that the incident happened around the time PSG drew level and increased pressure on Arsenal in the match.
He was said to have been watching the game when he suddenly became unwell and slumped. He did not recover after the incident.
On Sunday, his family and members of his kindred held burial rites at the family compound, where mourners gathered to pay their last respects. The atmosphere was filled with grief as loved ones struggled to come to terms with his death.
The incident has drawn reactions from football fans and residents of the community, many of whom described the news as painful and unexpected.
