Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States, Kayode Are, has said President Bola Tinubu may travel to the United States before the end of his diplomatic assignment.
He explained that the planned visit is not yet fixed, as it will depend on the President’s schedule and other arrangements tied to his official programme.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television with Laolu Akande, Are noted that discussions around a possible meeting between President Tinubu and former US President Donald Trump are still open, depending on diplomatic timing.
He said relations between Nigeria and the United States remain active, with continuous contact and engagement at different levels, even though both leaders have not met in person recently.
According to him, such a visit would be welcome and would be a major moment in Nigeria–US relations, but the final decision rests on official plans and conditions around the President’s movements.
