
Media personality Toke Makinwa has shared her thoughts on embracing motherhood later in life, revealing that she initially worried about being the oldest parent among her daughter's classmates.Makinwa, who welcomed her first child, a daughter, in August 2025, just months after celebrating her 40th birthday, made the heartfelt revelation while congratulating media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and his wife, Cynthia Obi-Uchendu, on the birth of their third child.
Taking to her Instagram Story on Sunday, June 28, the mother of one reflected on her earlier concerns about becoming a first-time mom at 40.
"Funny how having a baby at 40, I was worried about being the oldest mommy in school," she wrote.
However, Makinwa said those fears have since been replaced with gratitude as she has found herself surrounded by other new mothers.
"I was worried about all my friends' kids all grown, but look at God. So many babies born this season. New mom friends and endless community," she added.
Her candid reflection has resonated with many women who choose to start or grow their families later in life, highlighting that motherhood has no fixed timeline and that support can be found at every stage of the journey.
