The Dean, School of Environmental Technology, Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, ESV. Prof. O.A. Kemiki, has led a team on a courtesy visit to the Headquarters of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC) in Lafia to congratulate their colleague, ESV. Prof. Muhammad Bashar Nuhu, FNIVS, Shettiman Minna da Kuta, on his appointment as Executive Director, Finance, and to explore areas of collaboration with the Commission.
Prof.
Kemiki said the delegation was at the Commission to celebrate the well-deserved
appointment of Prof. Bashar, describing it as a source of pride for the School
and the University. He noted that since joining the Federal University of
Technology, Minna over two decades ago, Prof. Bashar has distinguished himself
as an accomplished scholar and an outstanding administrator.
According
to the Dean, Prof. Bashar's exemplary service has seen him hold several
strategic positions, including Head of the Department of Estate Management and
Valuation and Director of the Centre for Human Settlement and Urban
Development, among others.
He added
that his appointment as Executive Director, Finance, came as no surprise given
his proven competence and leadership.
Prof.
Kemiki also conveyed the appreciation of the School and the University for the
consistent support Prof. Bashar has extended to the Department of Estate
Management and Valuation and the School of Environmental Technology.
He
particularly acknowledged his invaluable contribution to the successful hosting
of the School of Environmental Technology International Conference, describing
his support as memorable and deeply appreciated.
The Dean
assured the Commission of the School's readiness to establish strategic
partnerships with the NCDC in the areas of research, capacity building,
innovation, and development initiatives that will contribute to the realization
of the Commission's mandate across the North Central region.
Welcoming
the delegation, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the North
Central Development Commission, Dr. Cyril Yiltsen Tsenyil, thanked the visitors
for the glowing testimony about Prof. Bashar, describing him as a dedicated
professional who is making significant contributions toward the successful
take-off and delivery of the Commission's mandate.
Dr.
Tsenyil reiterated the Commission's commitment to collaborating with
educational and research institutions to promote knowledge-driven development
and improve the standard of education within the North Central region.
Responding,
the Executive Director, Finance, Prof. Muhammad Bashar Nuhu, expressed
gratitude to his colleagues for the visit and their words of
encouragement.
He pledged
to continue contributing to the growth and development of the School of
Environmental Technology and the Federal University of Technology, Minna, while
remaining committed to the successful implementation of the Commission's
mandate.
