Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has alleged that the current administration is making it difficult for him to operate, claiming that he has faced repeated challenges because of his political activities.
Obi made the claim during an interview with Chude Jideonwo, where he said the pressure he is experiencing could affect his plans to contest the 2027 presidential election.
The former Anambra State governor said he was worried about the situation, alleging that different actions by the government had created obstacles for him in his daily activities and work.
“With the way this government is going, I may not even be alive to contest the 2027 election. Every single thing I do for a living, this government is deliberately frustrating. I face frustration every day,” Obi said.
He also claimed that the alleged treatment extends to public places, recalling an incident at an airport where his vehicle was locked while other cars were allowed to remain parked.
“They recently locked my car at the airport. I looked around and saw other cars parked there, yet mine was singled out. It is this kind of treatment I face regularly,” he added.
Obi said he believes the alleged actions are part of a wider pattern of difficulties faced by opposition figures. He, however, said he remains focused on promoting unity and a better relationship among Nigerians.
He stated that the country has become divided and that his goal is to encourage peace, care and togetherness among citizens.
“We have divided the country, building hatred among us. That’s why I keep saying, I want to bring back unity where there’s division. I want to show love, compassion, care,” Obi said.
