Nigerian-American Pharmacist, Olushola Yusuf, Convicted For Massive Oxycodone Distribution In Florida, USA.

A federal jury in the Southern District of Florida has convicted Olushola Yusuf, 60, of Tampa, a licensed pharmacist and pharmacy owner, for her role in dispensing over 335,000 oxycodone pills.

According to court documents and evidence presented at trial, Yusuf owned and operated Boots LLC doing business as Striderite Pharmacy in Margate, and Chans Pharmacy Plus in Pembroke Pines.

Prosecutors said Yusuf dispensed at least 335,351 pills of oxycodone 30mg — the maximum strength available — to customers who had no medical need for the drug. The drug is typically prescribed to seriously ill patients, such as those with chronic cancer pain.

The DOJ said Yusuf charged customers approximately 10 times the typical cost and required cash payments, with some paying up to $1,000 per month. She continued dispensing despite warnings from employees and the DEA.

She was found guilty of conspiracy to illegally distribute drugs and five counts of illegal drug distribution.
