Canada-based Nigerian woman, Prophetess Ezinne Nwanorue, has sparked controversy on social media after celebrating the death of her mother-in-law, Comfort Chika Nwanorue.
Ezinne shared a funeral poster of the deceased on Facebook on Monday, describing her late mother-in-law as a “wicked witch” and alleging that she and others had worked against her.
In the post, the self-described prophetess wrote that her mother-in-law should “rest in pieces in hell with other dead witches”, while also warning those she accused of belonging to the same group.
Ezinne further claimed that members of the family had discovered her destiny and attempted to prevent her from fulfilling it.
She wrote that she was now in her “season of manifestation” and declared that no one could stop her, while attributing her alleged victory to God.
The post has since generated mixed reactions online, with several social media users criticising Ezinne for publicly celebrating the death of a member of her husband’s family.
The latest controversy has also renewed attention on Ezinne’s relationship with her husband, Franklin Chimaobim Nwanorue, which previously attracted widespread attention on social media.
Ezinne and Franklin had earlier gone viral after she reportedly made his relocation to Canada conditional on him publicly taking an oath of fidelity.
In a viral video, Franklin declared that he would remain faithful to his wife and stated that he should die if he cheated on her after relocating to Canada.
He also pledged to be a good husband and father to their children.
However, Ezinne later alleged in a Facebook post that her husband had violated the oath by sleeping with another woman, claiming that he had continued his relationship with one of his alleged side chicks.
Her latest post concerning her mother-in-law’s death has now brought renewed public attention to the couple’s troubled relationship and wider family dispute.
As of the time of filing this report, neither Franklin Nwanorue nor other members of the family had publicly responded to Ezinne’s latest claims.
