The Rivers State Police Command has condemned a deadly attack in Omoku, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of the state, which left four people dead and another injured.

The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, July 22, 2026, when gunmen suspected to be cultists attacked the community.

Among those killed was the Omoku Zonal Commander of the Local Government Area Security Planning and Advisory Committee, OSPAC, Ozomela Stephen Nwaocha, alongside three women.

The police commissioner also urged community-based security groups and local vigilante outfits across the state to work closely with the police under the supervision of their respective Divisional Police Officers and Area Commanders.
