Veteran Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has criticised the public celebration of women accused of breaking up marriages, describing the trend as evidence of a decline in societal values.
In a lengthy post shared on her Instagram page, the actress questioned why women allegedly involved in disrupting marriages are being praised and referred to as "Queens."
According to Edochie, genuine honour and royalty cannot be built on another woman's pain, insisting that a true queen embodies dignity, grace and integrity.
"A true queen is a woman of dignity, grace and honour. She does not sneak into the dark to dismantle what she did not plant," she wrote.
The actress further condemned those who support or defend such actions, claiming they possess a distorted understanding of family values and respect.
She also criticised men who praise women accused of breaking up homes, saying society has become hypocritical by refusing to condemn actions that undermine the institution of marriage.
Edochie maintained that relationships founded on betrayal and heartbreak cannot stand the test of time, warning that actions have consequences.
Her comments have since sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some users agreeing with her stance on the sanctity of marriage, while others argued that relationship issues are often more complex than they appear from the outside.
