Popular Nigerian skit maker and content creator, Sydney Egere, better known as Sydney Talker, has revealed that he has lived a celibate life for the past four years, saying the choice helped him focus on his personal development and career.
The comedian made this known in a video shared on his Instagram page on Wednesday, July 23, 2026. He said July 27 would mark four years since he last shared a bed with a woman.
Sydney Talker explained that the journey had not been easy, but he remained committed to his decision. He said he believes God's grace helped him stay on that path throughout the period.
He said stepping away from romantic and emotional distractions gave him enough time to pay closer attention to the content creation industry.
According to him, he used the period to study how the industry works and think about ways creators could achieve lasting financial success.
The content creator said his research made him realise that more effort must be made to build a stronger future for content creators if they hope to become wealthy.
He added that he spent the last four years developing ideas and searching for practical solutions that could improve the industry.
Sydney Talker also said the time away from relationships allowed him to focus on creating plans that would not only help his own career but also benefit other content creators.
He said the experience gave him a clearer understanding of the business side of content creation and the need for better structures that can support long-term growth and success in the industry.
