President Bola Tinubu has expressed sadness over the death of Dame Ezinne Amaechi, the mother of former Rivers State Governor and ex-Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
The President conveyed his condolences on Friday through a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Dame Amaechi, who died at the age of 89, was described by Tinubu as a devoted woman of faith who dedicated her life to her family, the church and service to others.
Tinubu said the late matriarch played an important role in raising children who contributed to public service and maintained strong family values throughout her lifetime.
The President noted that her life was guided by kindness, humility and commitment, adding that she earned the respect of those who knew her.
He extended his sympathy to Rotimi Amaechi, members of the Amaechi family, the Catholic community and the people of Rivers State over the loss.
Tinubu prayed for comfort for the bereaved family and wished the deceased eternal rest, urging them to find strength in the values and legacy she left behind.
