United States President Donald Trump has announced that the ceasefire between the US and Iran has ended, saying he no longer wants to continue discussions with Iranian authorities.
Trump made the statement while speaking at the Ankara summit, where he accused Iran’s leadership of acting dishonestly during previous negotiations.
“The ceasefire between us and Iran is over. I don’t want to deal with them anymore, they are sc¥m,” Trump said.
The US president claimed that agreements reached during talks with Iranian representatives were later rejected publicly by Iran’s officials. He accused the country’s leadership of making commitments behind closed doors but taking a different position in public.
Trump said his representatives, including Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, were still available to handle negotiations if Iran decided to engage in what he described as serious talks.
The latest comments come as tensions continue to rise between Washington and Tehran over Iran’s nuclear programme and efforts to prevent a wider conflict.
