The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has announced that its 2026/2027 Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) aptitude test will begin on July 27 and run until July 31.
The university gave the update in a statement released on Tuesday by its registrar and secretary to council, Mrs Abosede Wickliffe, who warned applicants against any form of examination malpractice or failure to follow the test guidelines.
The screening exercise will be conducted online through a remote monitoring system, requiring candidates to complete the test under approved examination conditions.
According to the university, candidates must use laptops with built-in webcams and microphones for the examination.
Devices such as mobile phones, tablets, external cameras, smart glasses, headphones and other electronic gadgets will not be allowed during the test.
The institution also instructed candidates to take the 30-minute examination alone in a quiet and properly lit location.
Activities such as reading questions aloud, speaking during the test or allowing another person into the examination area will be treated as violations of the rules.
Candidates have also been advised to prepare for possible technical requirements by ensuring they have reliable internet access and steady power supply throughout the examination period.
UNILAG stated that it would not take responsibility for interruptions caused by network problems, electricity failure or other technical challenges beyond its control.
Candidates facing difficulties during the test were advised to use the “Need Help?” option available on the examination platform.
The university also reminded applicants that participation in the mock examination, which will be available until July 25, is compulsory.
The mock test is designed to help candidates check their devices, internet connection, webcam and readiness before the main examination.
UNILAG said the Safe Examination Browser required for the test would only work on computers running Windows 10 or newer versions and macOS Ventura or later systems.
Candidates were advised to use the same laptop, internet connection and examination location for both the mock test and the main aptitude test.
The institution warned applicants against individuals or organisations claiming to represent UNILAG and offering assistance through cybercafés, business centres or computer-based test centres.
The university said the screening exercise would only be carried out online from locations selected by candidates.
It added that the approved payment for the exercise remains ₦5,500, made up of ₦2,000 for application processing and ₦3,500 for administrative charges.
Applicants were advised to rely only on information from UNILAG’s official platforms and verified communication channels to avoid falling victim to fraud.
The university further warned that impersonation, cheating, unauthorised help and other forms of misconduct could lead to cancellation of applications or examination results.
UNILAG stated that its decisions regarding the conduct and outcome of the Post-UTME aptitude test would remain final.
