Gunmen Kidnapped Ogun Farmer, Demands N500 Million Ransom.

 

The son-in-law of veteran journalist and former Managing Director of the defunct Monitor newspaper, Ayo Akinyemi has been kidnapped on Sunday afternoon in Ikenne, Ikenne local government area of Ogun State.The victim, Oreoluwa Osunuga, who owns a farm settlement in the town was attacked by the gunmen while driving out from the farm to buy fuel and deliver some poultry products.

The gunmen forcefully whisked him away and abandoned his vehicle, while as at the time of filing this report, the location of where he (Osunuga) was taken to, was still unknown to the family and his staff

Sources said the kidnappers were reported to have contacted the family using his (Osunuga) mobile phone and demanding N500 million as ransom to regain freedom.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) at Ikenne Divisional Police Headquarters shortly after the incident visited the scene with his men and recovered the Highlander 2017 edition car of the victim, already driven to the station as at the time of this report

Ogun State Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni when contacted at about 9.50 pm on Sunday, confirmed the incident, explaining that the police authorities already on proactive move towards rescue of the victim, assuring that there was progress ongoing
