Oyo Police Arrest 10 Suspected Human Parts Merchants, Recover Human Heart, Skull.

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested 10 suspected human parts merchants following months of intelligence gathering, surveillance and monitoring of their activities.

The suspects were apprehended during an intelligence-led operation conducted by operatives of the Command Monitoring Unit at their various hideouts in the Iseyin and Saki areas of the state.

The suspects were identified as Adam Ibrahim, 42; Nasiru Kabiru, 22; Tijani Wasiu, 54; Abiola Nasiru, 45; Amusa Gbadamosi, 57; Raheem Taofeek, 46; Jimoh Muritala, 35; Suleiman Busari, 47; Ganiyu Nurudeen, 36; and Usman Abdullahi, 52.

According to the police, a search of the suspects' hideouts led to the recovery of several suspected human parts, including a human heart, human flesh and pieces of human skull, alongside assorted charms.

The command said the recovered items had been secured for forensic examination as investigations continue.

The suspects reportedly confessed during interrogation to their alleged involvement in the trade in human parts for various ritual purposes.

The police said the suspects are currently assisting investigators in determining the source, procurement and intended use of the recovered items.

Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to identify and arrest other suspected members of the alleged syndicate.

The command said the operation followed sustained intelligence gathering and discreet surveillance aimed at dismantling criminal networks involved in the alleged trade.
