Afrobeats star Davido has hit back at presidential candidate and activist Omoyele Sowore after the politician criticised his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Sowore, while assessing Adeleke’s administration during a recent interview, claimed that the governor was not fully in control of the state and alleged that members of his family were involved in running its affairs.
The AAC presidential candidate also criticised Adeleke’s performance as governor, saying he was disappointed after watching the governor’s appearance at an Arise TV town hall programme.
Sowore said: “What I saw in Governor Adeleke's leadership is that the guy is not even in control of his government. I did myself a little disservice. I watched him on the Arise TV town hall meeting and I am appalled that such a character is governing a state.”
He further alleged that Adeleke’s sister and elder brother, Adedeji Adeleke, who is Davido’s father, were involved in running the state.
“As a person, Ademola has nothing upstairs,” Sowore added.
Davido subsequently reacted to a video of the interview shared online.
The singer described Sowore as “Arindin”, a Yoruba word commonly used to describe a foolish or unintelligent person.
The exchange comes amid heightened political activity in Osun State as political actors and parties intensify preparations ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
