Why I Can't Quit Smoking - Omah Lay.

Nigerian singer Omah Stanley Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has revealed that he is no longer putting pressure on himself to stop smoking after several attempts to break the habit.

The Afrobeats star made this known during a recent podcast conversation with DJ Dan, where he spoke openly about his experience with smoking and his difficulty quitting.

Omah Lay explained that he had made several efforts to stop smoking but repeatedly struggled to stay away from it.

After those attempts, he said he has decided to accept that smoking is currently part of his lifestyle rather than continue forcing himself to quit.

The singer said he enjoys smoking and has come to terms with the fact that life is temporary. According to him, this way of thinking has made him less interested in putting himself under pressure over the habit.

Omah Lay also spoke about his use of weed, saying its illegal status in Nigeria adds another feeling to the experience for him.

He described the act as giving him a temporary sense of happiness as well as a feeling of going against the rules.

The Soso hitmaker said he now wants to live his life on his own terms and enjoy the things that bring him happiness. He noted that despite the risks associated with smoking, he does not want to spend his time constantly battling with himself over the habit.

His comments come after previous attempts to stop smoking, showing that the singer has struggled with quitting for some time.

Rather than presenting himself as someone who has successfully overcome the habit, Omah Lay said he has chosen to be open about where he currently stands.

Smoking, particularly the use of weed, remains a subject of concern because of its possible effects on a person's health. In Nigeria, cannabis is also prohibited under the country's drug laws, making its use a legal issue in addition to the health risks involved.
