Veteran Nollywood actor Patience Ozokwor has explained why she often takes up witch roles in movies, saying such characters allow her to portray and expose the evils she strongly condemns in society.
The actor said she believes God created a particular niche for her to expose societal ills, especially those involving injustice, war and rancour.
She said, “God carved that niche for me to be able to expose every ill that God created me to expose.”
Speaking about the things she strongly dislikes, Ozokwor added, “I hate injustice. I hate war. I hate anything that shows rancour.”
She explained that whenever she is given such roles, she uses them to bring certain issues to light, hoping that people who engage in such acts would recognise the consequences of their actions and be more careful.
According to her, “When given that kind of role, I try to bring out everything I know about it so that if you are taking part in any of them, you will be careful and know the end thereof.”
She further stressed that people ultimately have to live with the consequences of the lives they choose to lead.
She said, “You know what will happen to you if you live a terrible life, and what you will gain if you are a good person.”
