The incident reportedly occurred on Friday afternoon, August 14, 2026, at Novex Hotel, where the suspect was said to have checked in with the woman.
According to sources, people at the hotel reportedly heard sounds of a struggle coming from the room and broke in to investigate.
They allegedly found the woman lying in a pool of blood with a deep cut to her neck.
The woman’s remains were subsequently evacuated from the hotel to an undisclosed hospital, while the suspect was reportedly arrested by the police.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Adamawa State Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said a suspect had been arrested in connection with the alleged crime.
“The Command has commenced full investigation into the incident. Further details will be communicated to members of the public as the investigation progresses,” Nguroje stated.
He urged members of the public to remain calm and avoid taking the law into their own hands while the investigation continues.
“The Command urges members of the public to remain calm, avoid jungle justice, and allow the police to conclude investigation,” he added.
