Halima Dangote, daughter of billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote, has revealed that she and her siblings are not the type to flaunt their wealth, family background or achievements.
Speaking about their upbringing and lifestyle, Halima said they remain quiet about their identities and what they own, even when they interact with people from similar backgrounds, including the children of their father’s friends.
“We’re not spoilt. Anytime we meet with our co-peers, like the kids of our dad’s friends or people that were… We don’t… I mean, everyone has his own job,” she said.
According to her, the three siblings are naturally reserved and do not feel the need to tell people who they are or what they have achieved.
“We are more… we are quiet in the sense that we don’t say who we are. It’s, I don’t know if it’s fortunate or unfortunate. Now people recognize us, but it was easier when we were not recognized, you know, our results spoke for itself,” she added.
Halima noted that while some people are comfortable with social media, public recognition and openly expressing themselves, she and her siblings are different.
“I mean, some people are really comfortable with the social media, with being known, with being expressive. I don’t think we are. All three of us, we’re not expressive of what we have or what we own or what we’re doing,” she said.
She explained that they prefer to allow their achievements to speak for them, pointing to the performance and growth of their businesses.
“I think, like Fatima and Maya said, the results are just the ones speaking for itself: the sales of this business, the profit of this, our growth, us growing to 100 billion dollars,” Halima said.
“We are all in those key positions, and I mean, numbers don’t lie. So that’s it” she added.
