Nigerian Lecturer Found Dead At South Africa Residence.

A 51-year-old Nigerian lecturer and researcher at the University of Fort Hare in South Africa, Dr Ayodele Temidayo Odularu, has been found dead at her residence in the Eastern Cape Province.

Odularu’s death was confirmed by her brother, Dr Gbadebo Odularu, on Wednesday following the launch of a GoFundMe campaign to assist the family.

A family member who spoke anonymously said the circumstances surrounding her death were unclear, but indicated that the family did not believe she died from natural causes.

The family has consequently called for an investigation to establish what led to her death and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Odularu died on August 16, 2026, according to information provided by the family.

Before her death, she was an Independent Senior Researcher within the University of Fort Hare community, where she was involved in academic research and development-focused initiatives.

Her areas of work included improving access to knowledge and educational opportunities, promoting sustainable development and developing solutions aimed at supporting underserved communities.

The family is currently seeking support through the fundraising campaign as they deal with the circumstances surrounding her death and related expenses. If you want, I can also make it more like Punch/Naija News style and give you 10 hot headlines.
