Peter, in an interview with Capital XTRA, said he had initially remained silent in the hope that those involved would eventually acknowledge their mistakes and that the situation would improve.
According to him, he expected a “wind of change” but said the situation instead continued to escalate.
He explained that the developments eventually prompted him to speak out and present his own account of what happened.
“These guys have been speaking. Now it’s time to speak my own truth,” Peter said.
The singer stressed that his decision was not motivated by a desire to win public sympathy or shape public opinion.
Rather, he said he believed P-Square fans deserved to understand the circumstances surrounding the group’s eventual separation.
“Not that I wanted the public opinion. I don’t want the public opinion. But just that I feel like the fans of P-Square need justice for what happened to their P-Square,” he said.
P-Square, made up of Peter and his twin brother Paul Okoye, has experienced multiple public disagreements over the years, with the duo separating on more than one occasion.
Peter’s latest comments come as he continues to share his perspective on the events that contributed to the breakdown of their musical partnership.
