‘Power & Life Are Transient’ — APC Chieftain Warns Wike Over Tinubu Support.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Farouk Adamu-Aliyu, has said the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, could, in some ways, pose a danger to President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

Aliyu made the comment amid the growing disagreement between Wike and the APC Governors’ Forum over the minister’s Rainbow Coalition political arrangement.

The disagreement intensified after a closed-door meeting in Abuja on Tuesday, following which the APC Governors’ Forum, led by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, publicly opposed political arrangements that were not fully aligned with the interests of APC candidates.

Wike subsequently criticised the position of the governors, describing them as “smart but lazy” politicians.

The FCT minister, who remains a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said his commitment was to support Tinubu’s re-election at the presidential level while continuing to support PDP candidates in other elections.

Reacting to the development during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Aliyu criticised Wike’s approach to the disagreement.

He described the FCT minister as arrogant and urged him to recognise that political power and life itself are temporary.

According to Aliyu, Wike’s present political position could create difficulties for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign.

Aliyu’s comments come as the disagreement between Wike and APC governors continues to generate political reactions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
