Sowore made the declaration during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he discussed his views on healthcare and the conduct of public office.
The AAC candidate said he would rely on medical treatment available in Nigeria and would not seek treatment abroad for an illness that could not be managed locally.
“Any sickness that I can’t treat in Nigeria when I become president should better kill me. I can tell you that for free,” Sowore said.
He also said he would maintain a separation between his family and the affairs of government if elected, arguing against the use of the Presidency for family-related privileges.
“There is no office of First Lady in the Nigerian Constitution. Becoming president will not abolish my marriage, but I will not have the office of First Lady,” he said.
Sowore added that women would still have a role in his administration, but said he did not support having an official Office of the First Lady.
“Women will be heard, but I don’t believe that you need a First Lady who is holding an unconstitutional position and just wasting money that is meant for progress and projects,” he said.
His comments form part of the positions he has outlined ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
