THE DAY A LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMAN BECOMES PRESIDENT, NIGERIA WILL CHANGE COMPLETELY ——Chief Yetunde Arobieke.

Rising from a meeting she held with the executive members of the Igbo Community in Kosofe Local Government Area in Lagos State, Otunba Chief Mrs. Yetunde Arobieke has come out to declare that Local Government Chairmen, serving or retired should be given greater opportunities in our political space in Nigeria, as only them understands the intricacies of the challenges facing Nigerians at all levels.

Yetunde Arobieke, a former Local Government Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area LCDA, was the first Chairman and first woman to occupy such position when the council area was created in 2003 by the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration in Lagos, which was a platform she used to relaunch her political career, having served as the First Lady of Shomolu Local Government when her husband was Administrator.

According to her, politicians who had occupied positions at the local cadre of the political system have better understanding of what the challenges and the needs of the people are and have the magic wand to help in their totality to salvage them.

Speaking further, she says that her desire had always been to give her best at all times, which was evident in her administration as Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu, a local government she harnessed from the stretch to an envy that it is today, with purpose driven programs and policies, which are still evident 8years after I left office.

Give former Chairmen of Local Governments opportunities at different levels, Arobieke says, and watch us do the needs of the people because we have worked with them, still working with them, I live in my community in Agboyi, so I have a comprehensive idea of what they are going through at all times. Only this will change the fortunes of our people at all levels especially at the grassroots.

Chief Mrs. Yetunde Arobieke, YARO who is contesting to occupy the seat at the Federal House of Representatives, Representing Kosofe Federal Constituency in Lagos State says that her campaign is purpose driven, poised to help harness further, the constituents of the constituency.
