The speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Kennedy Ibe is said to have been impeached in a controversial manner which has the side of the impeached supposed speaker crying fowl and claiming that he resigned as he is said to have been removed under circumstances linking him to allegations of abuse of power.
After
his impeachment, a member of the house, who represents Ehime Mbano state constituency,
Hon. Emeka Nduka was immediately picked as speaker, replacing Kennedy Ibe.
It is on record that Emeka Nduka is the fourth Speaker of the Imo Assembly, as Anyanwu Emeka described the parliament as Imo House of Shame.
Kennedy Ibe who represents Obowo State constituency emerged speaker in November 2021, after
Paul Emezim was removed as the speaker. He was on suspension when he was elected as the number one man of the
legislature.
With the orgy situation in Imo State House of Assembly, it has become obvious
that the 3rd arm of Government in Imo can best pass a mere arm of government
for political settlement.

Okeoma, an Imo based Journalist had predicted that the new Speaker, Emeka Nduka would be impeached before
November, 2022 shortly after he was sworn in as Speaker.
