The Archbishop of the Catholic diocese of Benin, Augustine Akubeze and the entire Benin Archdeaconry are mourning the death of one of her priests and Vice Principal of St. Michaels  College, Ikhueniro, Rev. Fr. Charles Onomhoale, who was shot dead on the 7th of June on his way back from his place of assignment.

According to a statement by the diocese and signed by the Archbishop himself, the body of the reverend father was found by boundary street in Ikpoba Hill in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area in Edo State and the appropriate security agency was informed and they are currently working on the case, to unravel what may have transpired and how the father was killed.

The statement says the Archdiocese solicit for prayers of the general public for the repose of the soul of the dead. 

Rev. Father Charles Onomhoale was ordained a priest on the 13th of August 2022 and was until his sudden death a few days ago, a Vice Principal of St. Michael College.
