Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Governor of Ogun State, has urged the Super Falcons of Nigeria go make the country proud once again when they take on the Amazons of Benin Republic in the second-leg WAFCON 2026 qualifier match later today.
The governor made this charge at his office in Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, yesterday, Monday, October 27, 2025, when he received the team ahead of their WAFCON 2026 qualifier.
Also, the Governor announced a support package of ₦50 million for the team in recognition of their remarkable achievements and to further inspire them for the task ahead,
Governor Abiodun commended the Falcons for their record-breaking tenth WAFCON title in Morocco, saying it was a victory that brought immense pride to Nigeria. He noted that the team’s excellence goes beyond football, as they continue to exemplify leadership, teamwork, and discipline.
"Through your inspiring journey, millions of young women across Nigeria have learned that excellence knows no gender and that with hard work, focus, and unity, every dream is attainable," he said.
On behalf of the Government and the good people of Ogun State, the governor assured the Super Falcons of continuous and unwavering support as they represent the country with pride and determination.
