Peter Obi, the 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has officially defected to the coalition-backed African Democratic Congress, ADC.
Obi made the announcement in Enugu on Wednesday, December 31.
The former Governor of Anambra State explained that his move to the ADC ahead of the 2027 elections is driven by a commitment to transform the country and rescue Nigeria.
“We are ending this year with the hope that in 2026 we will begin a rescue journey,” he declared.
“We will resist rigging of the election by every lawful means in 2027,” he added.
Obi further appealed to opposition leaders across the country to unite as one family under the leadership of David Mark to work together towards rescuing Nigeria.
