Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has formally left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The development was disclosed by the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, during the party’s 14th National Caucus meeting held at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja.
Yilwatda, who is from Plateau State, said the governor’s defection further solidifies the APC’s dominance in the North-Central geopolitical zone.
According to him, Mutfwang’s decision means that all states in the North-Central region are now under APC leadership.
“With Governor Mutfwang joining our party, the entire North-Central is now controlled by the APC,” Yilwatda said.
The move signals a major political shift in Plateau State and is expected to influence party strategies and alliances ahead of future elections.
